About the Role

We are looking for a Sales Engineer with proven experience and a passion for selling technology solutions to a wide range of customers and verticals. Working collaboratively with Soracom product teams, you will be responsible for selling to new prospects to support our sales team in closing deals and expanding customers' usage of our advanced technology services. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, up-selling, cross-selling, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall sales team and business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sales account executives and strategic sales manager with solution selling into prospect account base
  • Define and lead initial demos and presentations for potential customers and analyze specific customer requirements to be able adapt in realtime to customer needs
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the customer's technical staff and earn their trust & credibility through your deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Constantly stay up to date with evolving IoT technologies, be the technology thought leader supporting sales executives in engaging directly with customers
  • Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition of our technology
  • Effectively communicate client needs to internal product & engineering teams for future product enhancements
  • Enable the technical sales field through creation of technical collateral (demos, videos, training, etc.)
  • Collect and document competitive intelligence

Requirements

Key Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer or other customer facing technical roles (professional services, solutions architect, technical consultant, etc.)
  • Proven track record successfully selling complex SaaS solutions
  • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex technology concepts in an easy to understand manner
  • Solid technical background with understanding and hands-on experience in networking, cloud and software development
  • Solid multi-tasking, troubleshooting and problem resolution abilities
  • Self-starter and quick learner with desire to continually learn new tools and technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation and creative skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience working remotely in a multicultural environment
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Assist sales team members in completion of RFP and RFI responses
  • High aptitude for creative problem solving

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Experience working in IoT ecosystem
  • Experience with development of both software and hardware solutions
  • Experience working with Public Cloud provider technologies and services. (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Network Infrastructure knowledge (Routing, Switching, Firewalls, etc.)
  • Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, GCP)
