We're seeking an experienced Platform Product Manager to join our managed operations (Run) team. This individual will help define and lead the strategic direction of our internal software deployment platform on cloud infrastructure. The role is crucial to enabling our client-facing build teams and customers to benefit from high reliability, observability, security, and performance of their applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
Product Vision & Strategy: Collaborate with business leaders to define the product strategy and roadmap for our internal software deployment platform, with focus on continuous delivery of value to our customers and internal application teams.
Customer Focus: Prioritize efforts to increase application and platform reliability based on insights derived from customer feedback, internal application team needs, and industry best practices.
Customer Support: Organize and manage cross-team on-call scheduling and incident management for the platform and customer applications.
Technical Expertise: Leverage deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and related technologies to drive platform enhancements, reliability, security, observability, and operational efficiency. Collaborate closely with the platform engineering team to translate platform and customer needs into technical solutions.
Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to set expectations, manage project timelines, and respond to feedback.
Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical, fine-grained execution
Team Facilitation: Organize and facilitate regular project planning meetings, standups, brainstorming sessions, team retrospectives, and other agile team ceremonies.
The ideal candidate has worked as a product manager in a professional, team-based, agile environment, preferably in software or platform products. They have experience across the entire product lifecycle, and a deep understanding of product management principles.
A deep technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and cloud infrastructure is preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills as well as empathy are essential for working closely with the development team, customers, and others at Mechanical Orchard.
