Coder is on a mission to build enterprise software that makes software developers’ lives easier and keeps them in flow. We’re looking to hire an experienced Technical Writer to help us mature our product documentation and other supporting materials.
Responsibilities

Defining, implementing, and enforcing an information architecture (e.g. Diataxis) for our product documentation

Working with the product, engineering, and marketing teams to write monthly changelogs and documentation for new features

Continuously creating and updating documentation/information architecture based on feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and website analytics

Providing strategic guidance to the leadership team on how to grow the footprint of technical writing at Coder via additional hiring, training, and/or other proven methods.
Requirements

3+ years of experience writing software documentation, both for new products and with existing materials

3+ years of experience working with DevOps tooling such as observability platforms, Ci/Cd providers, cloud providers, infrastructure as code platforms, etc.
Bonus points

A background doing web development, system administration, or other software engineering disciplines.

Experience writing for both open-source communities and enterprise IT teams.
Interview Process
We believe that the interview process should be consistent and enjoyable. We hope to get through the interview process in two to three weeks if schedules allow. During this time, you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and leadership. If this position requires a take-home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time after completion.
