YOUR PURPOSE

Coin Metrics is recruiting a Senior Security Engineer to build out Coin Metrics application and security infrastructure. Security Engineers will have a chance to work in a highly dynamic environment and will be working alongside application engineers to move quickly without compromising safety. You’ll also collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure that the foundations upon which Coin Metrics is built will be able to protect the firm from ever-changing vectors of attack. Finally, Security Engineers will champion the security side of technical compliance to set the highest standards in the industry. As the first hires primarily dedicated to security, you will have a significant impact on the direction of the security program and the tools and practices Coin Metrics’ uses to secure its environment and maintain our customers trust

YOUR VALUE

• Work closely with engineering and product teams to develop tools, techniques and processes (e.g., secure code reviews) that will enable Coin Metrics to deliver secure products to our customers  
• Collaborate  with engineering and product teams to develop secure build and deployment models for our infrastructure
• Act as a technical security lead, train engineers and staff,  and champion security best practices 
• Integrate security best practices (threat modeling, etc.) into the SDLC and daily operations
• Triage and validate  security vulnerabilities from internal scanning and penetration tests, while advising engineering teams in remediation activities
• Build and deploy tools and processes to automate security processes and compliance and due diligence
• Assist in incident response activities: monitoring, analysis, remediation, and implementing lessons learnt
• Develop meaningful security metrics and measures to protect our information systems and communicate to leadership 
• Collaborate with teams to build white papers and technical collateral to help support the sales team

 

YOUR EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience working in cloud security, infrastructure security, SecOps, or similar roles
• Strong sense of ownership, entrepreneurial spirit, and/or startup-like experience, capable of driving towards solutions independently while seeking feedback when appropriate
• Understanding and experience with Secure SDLC and activities within such as threat modeling, code review, tooling, secure deployment, and testing
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI, Ansible, Python, Grafana, and Linux
• Experience working with Python, Bash, Kotlin/Java, SQL, and PostgreSQL are very nice pluses
• Experience in SaaS and bare metal infrastructure; experience with GCP and AWS a plus
• Knowledge of Configuration Management and Security Baselines such as CIS Baselines, NIST, etc
• Understanding of the current OWASP Top 10, SOC2, and other frameworks or guidance
• Curiosity for decentralized networks, blockchains, cryptoassets, and delivering systems with high requirements for integrity and availability
