Join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of others! We are looking for a Learning & Talent Development Specialist for our People & Culture team.
Must be willing to travel: This role is remote and requires occasional travel to any FreedomCare location nationally when necessary.
Department & Position Overview:
The Learning & Talent Development Specialist is tasked with ensuring the effective and consistent delivery of training programs for both new hires and tenured employees. This role includes ongoing coaching, performance evaluation, and active involvement in curriculum design. Additionally, the L&TD Specialist will contribute to the development, maintenance, enhancement, and analysis of training materials to meet department and organizational goals.
Every Day You Will:
- Facilitate and lead a variety of training initiatives, including new hire training, tenured employee upskilling, and refresher courses.
- Cultivate a learning environment that encourages a growth mindset to enhance employee performance across all levels.
- Lead new hires through their onboarding process, including on-the-job training, and support their transition to team roles, incorporating manager debriefs and interim managerial duties as needed.
- Assess and evaluate learner performance at multiple stages using tools like Kirkpatrick Level 1-3 Evaluations to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback, develop tailored support plans for learners needing additional help, and craft action plans to address performance concerns.
- Create and revise training materials and support resources, such as PowerPoint decks and job aids, to stay aligned with evolving business processes and brain-based learning strategies.
- Measure and report on learner progress and training program effectiveness, identifying areas for enhancement in both content and delivery methods.
- Develop relationships with cross-functional business leaders to ensure training alignment with business objectives and initiatives.
- Engage in hands-on training methods like evaluations, shadowing, and one-on-one support to reinforce learning and application on the job.
- Continuously update personal knowledge and training content to reflect new industry trends and business opportunities, utilizing the latest in training effectiveness tools and adult learning principles.
Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as education, communications, or human resources. Equivalent professional experience is also acceptable.
Experience
- Minimum of three years in a training role.
- Experience with delivering both virtual and in-person training.
- Experience in the education, communications, or HR fields; healthcare industry experience is highly desirable.
- Experience creating multimedia training materials such as PowerPoint presentations and job aids.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and remote training solutions.
- For internal candidates: Thorough knowledge of company processes and quality standards, along with meeting current productivity and quality expectations.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams).
- Experience with virtual conference applications (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Adobe Connect).
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Telephonic customer-service experience, particularly in healthcare administration.
Competencies
- Advanced knowledge and skills in Adult Learning and e-Learning principles, with an ability to stay updated on emerging trends.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking.
- Strong coaching skills and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to apply adult learning theories effectively and tailor learning solutions to optimize trainee performance.
- Exceptional leadership qualities and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in the education field, communications, HR, or telephonic customer-service (education and/or experience in healthcare administration is also desirable)
- Experience delivering virtual and in-person training
- Experience within the healthcare industry
- Experience creating PPT presentations, job aides, or other multimedia assets
- Experience with Salesforce

At FreedomCare, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides our employees with the opportunity to professionally grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $20.00 and $27.00 an hour at the commencement of your first year of employment. Compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, years of relevant experience, education, location, and licensure/certifications.
