Fund Accountant, Associate I, Hedge Funds
MG Stoverâs Associates in the Fund Accounting groups are responsible for carrying out our client engagements according the terms of our SLAs and report directly to their assigned engagement Senior Associates and Managers. Associates are involved with all aspects of the client engagement and are critical to the success of the company. The ideal candidate will possess experience auditing investment funds or performing investment fund accounting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the accounting data for approximately 1-10 client engagements
- Ensure all client deliverables are prepared accurately and with a high level of quality
- Reconcile all portfolio and cash activity to source data
- Ensure fund expenses are accrued timely and in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare/review investor allocations and ensure fee/allocations are booked accurately
- Prepare monthly Net Asset Value reporting while following the established accounting procedures and controls
- Draft annual financial statements and coordinate year end audit with client and independent auditors
- Keep an accurate time log and maintain efficient work standards to ensure profitability ofengagements
- Identify and track inefficiencies caused by client issues, or other matters and communicate challenges faced.
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all interactions with clients and other members of the firm.

Education and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Preferred CPA or CPA candidate
- Preferred Experience with investment fund auditing or accounting
- Internship or experience in industry a plus
